April 13, 2007 | Filed Under Artists, Labels, Releases | No Comments

Robert Babicz - A Cheerful TemperCologne-based DJ and producer Robert Babicz aka Rob Acid, will release his new artist album titled “A Cheerful Temper” through Marc Romboy’s imprint, Systematic Recordings, in May. After a cycle of influential techno records in the late ’90s, the last couple of years have seen a series of quality releases for Babicz on such labels as Punkt, Treibstoff, Steve Bug’s Audiomatique, and Kompakt’s offshot K2. Despite the fact he’s been making music for almost two decades, Babicz is a classic example of an older and already established producer that has managed to stay relevant by constantly reinventing his sound.

Aril Brikha - Akire EPSwedish producer Aril Brikha made his debut on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat Recordings with a three-track EP titled “Akire,” released March 26 on 12″ vinyl. Following his Winter EP release earlier this year (on Kompakt), the Stockholm-based DJ and producer now joins Poker Flat with a dose of hi-end melodic deep techno. Brikha is currently working on his second artist album, a follow-up to his 2000 debut, Deeparture In Time, due for release later this year (May/June).
