MUTEK 07

The 8th edition of MUTEK’s Montreal festival will take place from Wednesday May, 30 to Sunday June, 3 2007. The configuration of this year’s edition will remain faithful to the essence of the festival since its debuts, with various programs of concerts and performances showing what is considerrd as the most innovative projects and artists, in electronic music and digital creation.


All in all, the Mutek team welcomes more than a hundred artists (local, national and international), should they be new talent, more established artists or expected “big names”. The events will once again take place in various venues in the centre of Montreal, allowing the public to experience several contexts. Mid April all the programme will be announced officially and MUTEK passports and tickets will go on sale.

NUIT ELECTRONIK 2007 Montreal High Lights Festival

SATURDAY MARCH, 3RD, from 10pm to 8am
Metropolis, 59 Ste-Catherine Street East

Following the first three editions, MUTEK and the PIKNIC ELECTRONIK teamed up to present the 4th NUIT ELECTRONIK, taking place as part of the NUIT BLANCHE of the MONTRÉAL HIGH LIGHTS festival. This year, the Nuit Electronik has moved to Metropolis.
The night will begin with a frenetic Ipod Battle in the Savoy, from 10pm to 1am. Presented by A FLY IS ON THE WALL, the following team of musical gladiators will battle: Bande à part, MUTEK, Piknic Électronik, Ninja Tune, I Love Neon, Numéro#, Sexy Boy and La Presse
At the same time, in the main room THE MOLE (Montreal), ERNESTO FERREYRA (from the Chic Miniature duet / Montreal), DJ KOZE (Hamburg/KOMPAKT/INTERNATIONAL PONY), JAMES HOLDEN (London/BORDER COMMUNITY) with a 3 hour-set and BENDER (Montreal) are spinning the decks.

February, 24: « Montréal Underground » Showcase @ SMITHSONIAN (Washington United States)
Part of the cultural event “Quebec: Old World Charm, New World Excitement”, honouring the province of Quebec in the American capital, MUTEK is proud to present one evening “MONTREAL UNDERGROUND”, gathering artists who represent Montreal’s own creativity.
The event is an initiative from the general Delegation of Quebec in New York, in association with the Smithsonian Institution. The presence of Quebec at the Smithsonian Institution will enable to emphasize he culture and the history of Quebec and is also a great occasion to better understand the wealth and variety of the exchanges that Quebec has had for a long time with the United States. On stage : Pheek (live), Mossa (live), Vincent Lemieux (DJ), Clandestine + Les Passagers (VJs)

MARCH, 30 : M.I.T. MUTEK @ MEET IN TOWN (Rome, Italy)
After a memorable evening, presented in September, 2004, in a packed room in Brancaleone, MUTEK is back in Rome and will this time be welcomed in prestigious Public studio Parco della Musica, as part of the series MEET IN TOWN-Landing one Contemporary Soundscapes.

APRIL, 5-6 : MUTEK @ PAYSAGES ÉLECTRONIQUES (Lille, France)
Paysages Electroniques is an electronic music & visual arts festival. The third edition of the festival will take place this year from April, 5 to April, 8 2007. Paysages Electroniques aims at developing the general public’s interest for electronic music and digital creation, and at giving visibility to new forms of cultural exchanges. MUTEK is proud to collaborate with this festival & present the two following events:
