Camping Compilation 03 @ BPitch ControlBerlin-based imprint BPitch Control will release another installment of its “Camping” label compilation in late March. Once again, label boss Ellen Allien did the selection and compiled the album. Camping 03 features 14 brand new and exclusive tracks from the old stagers like Sascha Funke and Paul Kalkbrenner, as well as newcomers Zander VT and Larsson and some new material from artists who haven’t had a release on BPitch for a longer time like Timtim, Sylvie Marks & Hal9000 and Feadz. Two guest tracks by Jahcoozi and Fairmont enframe the record at both ends. Ellen herself contributes a remix for Safety Scissors’ “Where Is Germany And How Do I Get There?” and a new track “Red Planets” together with Apparat.

Steve Porter - Porterhouse 2Steve Porter will release the second installment of his Porterhouse mix compilation on March 13. Porterhouse Vol. 2 will contain 57 tracks and will take the form of a fancy double-disc set. In case you were wondering, the mix compilation will feature 14 original Porter productions and contributions by Paul Rincon, Golden Girls, Slacker, Soul Of Man, Sucker DJs, Way Out West, Plump DJs, Richard F, Max Graham, Judge Jules, and Bassbin Twins. Porter has already hit the road in support of the project and plans to launch his own label later this year, PH Recordings. Porter also recently collaborated with Lee Burridge in NYC. “Dirty Panty Ho Wrestler” / “Raw Dog” will be released on Lee’s Almost Anonymous label. The tracks include some Looney Tune samples and “everything but the kitchen sink.”

New album by Armand Van Helden due soonArmand Van Helden will be releasing a brand new album full of artist material this spring on Southern Fried Records called “Ghettoblaster”. That’s just about all we know so far. No full track list has been released for the album but it will contain his current single released just before Christmas ‘Touch My Toes’. That record has seen the light of day on a few Radio 1 play lists over the past few weeks most noticeable the mighty Pete Tong and he doesn’t spin any old garbage. For a preview of that record and a few others by Armand have a nosey at his MySpace page where you can hear samples.

Miguel Migs - Those ThingsThe San Francisco-based house DJ, producer and label owner, Miguel Migs, is set to release his second artist album titled “Those Things” on his own Salted Music imprint in late March. The new LP is a follow-up to his 2002 debut “Colorful You”. The album’s first single “So Far” was released yesterday along with remixes by Rasmus Faber, Eric and Josh Heath. In support of “Those Things”, Miggs is planning a live band to take out on tour with a few vocalists including Lisa Shaw, L.T. and Tim Fuller among others to perform a selection of new and older material.

James Brown dies at 73The new album from Amon Tobin titled “Foley Room” along with a DVD documentary of the recording process titled “Foley Room: Found Footage” will be released on 5th March on Ninja Tune. “Foley Room” is Tobin´s fifth album and follows up “Chaos Theory”, his 2005 soundtrack to the video game “Splinter Cell”. “Foley Room” was inspired and named after the developer of sound effects Jack Foley. Using some high grade, old school equipment, Amon Tobin ventured out to find anything he could record and use for the album.
