The first edition (Part 1) is a documentary film based on electronic producer, performer and industry icon, Richie Hawtin. The film draws from the important stages and events in Richie Hawtin\’s personal and artistic life, revealing the journey of an introverted and transplanted computer-minded teen that develops by way of Detroit’s radio and records fuelled by pure driven passion into a successful techno-entrepreneur and global DJ entertainer.

Phil Kieran - Skyhook EP (Novamute)
December 11, 2006 | Filed Under Artists, Labels, Releases | 1 Comment
Irish DJ/producer Phil Kieran (aka Alloy Mental) should by now need little introduction. With numerous releases and remixes for the likes of Kingsize, Soma, Skint, Bugged Out, Shine, Loaded, Tronic and Yoshitoshi labels, he never fails to deliver a dose of head-imploding basslines, skiffling glitches and an injection of razor sharp electronics. His recent productions have seen Kieran team up with Funk D’Void, releasing three singles on Soma Recordings. Other new releases such as “Sau Paulo” on Electrix and “Triple Crown” on Lee Van Dowski’s minimal label, Num, showcase Phil’s ability to nail top productions in almost every genre of underground electronica.

Luke Slater - Fabric 32
December 9, 2006 | Filed Under Artists, Labels, Releases | No Comments
Luke Slater has been a favourite of Fabric’s for a long time. His platform as one of the creators of UK/Detroit’s techno marriage, blending the intensity of techno’s hardest funk and minimal flavours with the sweet swagger and chunky bristle of a fat street party, established much of the music Fabric programs week-in, week-out. “Fabric 32″ guides you knowingly through some of the most hot-tipped tracks from the likes of Carl Craig, Audion, Switch, Spank Rock, Sleeparchive, and The Juan Maclean. Weighted more so knowing that Luke recorded the mix in Fabric Room 2 one chilly November afternoon - a first for the Fabric series.
